About PAN-Nigeria Agro-Allied Export Summit (P-NAAES) 2016
PAN-Nigeria Agro-Allied Export Summit (P-NAAES) 2016, is the 1th edition, of what will become one of Nigeria’s biggest events for Agro-Allied Export Promotion, through a rising profile of a burgeoning number of exhibitors and visitors from all over the country to network with global bodies like GLOBAL GAP.
Nigeria, with a population of over 170 million, is currently the most viable marketplace for agriculture in Africa, by virtue of the massive arable land, growing infrastructure, and high demand for agricultural consumables. Same time, the country needs to export to balance the foreign exchange, which informed the Minister of Agriculture & Rural Development, Prof. Audu Ogbeh to say,
We will prioritise for export markets, the production of the following crops and activities: The crops include cowpeas, cocoa, cashew, cassava, ginger, sesame, oil palm, yams fruits and vegetables as well as cotton.
P-NAAES is, no doubt, a testament that time has come for Agriculture to take front-burner position in re-focusing Government and Private sectors’ interests for food security, increased export earnings, job creation, among other economic benefits. This is a revolutionary approach would not only leapfrog the agricultural sector in the country, but also boost the supply chain which involves transportation, logistics, aviation, packaging, of such agricultural products for exportation, which will in turn create jobs for unemployed youths.
For Nigeria to tap into the riches of the unfolding diversified economy through agriculture, Nigerians in the private and public sector have to make investments in the sector, as promotion of agricultural produce has become imperative in the face of slump in the price of crude oil in the international market; current global realities have made it imperative for government to be more creative in exploring other sources of revenues rather than depending on crude oil.
Benefits: P-NAAES is positioned to prove how to generate over 50,000 tons of agricultural produce annually for export, while targeting produce such as pumpkin leaves, fresh ginger and garlic, white and red sweet potatoes and bitter leaves, pineapples, amongst others, and bring in the off-takers to take agricultural products as long as they meet the international standard and requirements. Every State in Nigeria is blessed with exportable agro-allied summit.
P-NAAES will open the lid on Global GAP certification for farmers, States and Federal Government to explore food supply chain to Europe and other parts of the world.
The 2016 edition tagged ‘Anambra 2016’ will hold in Awka, Anambra State. The Anambra Connection To The Summit
Against the backdrop of the above window of opportunity brought to the table by ABX World, The Anambra state government, under the deeply visionary leadership of his excellency governor Willie Obiano, braved all odds and took the lead, in what looked then like an uncharted course, by partnering with our company for massive agro-allied export production, the contract of which the state government signed with the buying markets overseas over a year ago. And so far the total vegetable export proceeds of about $5million has been raked in the recent couple of months by the state government . Also, Interestingly, it is worthy of note to mention that Anambra state at the peak of her export production in the nearest future, on the platform of this export contract, shall be earning in export proceeds an average of $5.2 billion per year and this is real and practicable as the template for the production is already on ground, the state government is committed just as the foreign buyers are eagerly waiting.
Motivated by results and the bright business prospects that the governor has seen, Chief Willie Obiano graciously accepted to host the maiden edition of this great national summit billed to move across Nigeria on a marathon
