Captain John Okakpu (MD/CEO of abx world) Captain John Okakpu (MD/CEO) - a tested and very well trusted commercial pilot that graduated from Airline Training Institute in San Carlos, California and the first Nigeria in that school with honor roll. He returned to Nigeria after graduation and was licensed as a commercial pilot by NCAA (Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority) after passing the examinations as required by law. He also attended Mission College in Santa Clara, California where he studied Calculus and Political Science1 with distinction. He was trained as pilot and gathered the bulk of his commercial flying experience in the USA where he also functioned at the top management levels at various air services. For instance, between 1987 and 1990, Captain John T Okakpu was at the helms of affairs of Skyway Aviation Services- a US based company specialized in air ambulance and air charter services. Subsequently, he moved over to Tower Aviation Services in Oakland, California as management in charge of Middle East and Africa. Here, the company’s main business revolves around aircraft sales, aircraft maintenance and repairs. He discharged his responsibilities herewith exceeding merit before he finally resigned and returned to Nigeria in 1998 to commence the business activities of Airborne Express and Air Business Express (ABX WORLD) – cargo and an agro-allied solutions company registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (RC: 439033) and principal business office at No. 36, Aromire Avenue Ikeja Lagos, Nigeria. He ventured fully into agriculture after acquiring his first aircraft (Boeing 767-200 cargo plane) and found out that aircrafts fly out of Nigeria empty after dropping their cargoes.
